Please pray regularly on Mondays and Thursdays for our Foodbank volunteers, for their protection and continuing good health
Sunday 5th April Palm Sunday – Remembering Jesus going to Jerusalem knowing his destiny was about to unfold. For our church family at St Saviour’s as they fellowship alone or with their family. That they are finding and enjoying new ways of worship. Especially the St Saviour’s Online channel. Finding time every day to spend with God and to be reassured he is in control. Monday 6th April The Churchwardens as they have much to deal with re the leadership and running of the church in the interregnum. Including interviewing for a new vicar today! For the PCC as they still have responsibilities and meetings during this time. For the church staff unable to continue their jobs as normal whilst St Saviour’s is shut. That they will be able to work from home where possible and continue to serve God as he guides Tuesday 7th April
The Community Foodbank as it still aims to feed those who cannot afford to feed their households locally. Especially those who normally received help with school lunches. That sufficient supplies will come in and that the teams will keep healthy. For their work with Spelthorne Council as they all adapt to the changing circumstances. Praise God for extra donations from major chains such as McDonalds and Costa when they closed. Wednesday 8th April Remember the victims of the virus, for those in self-isolation at home, for those alone in hospital and for those who mourn the death of a loved one. Especially for those who cannot participate in a funeral for their loved ones. Thursday 9th April Maundy Thursday – Celebrating Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. That He loves and cares for us whatever our circumstances. That He will always provide for our needs. Friday 10th April Good Friday – Find some time to be alone and meditate on the crucifixion. Picture the scene and ask Jesus what He wants to say to you today. Read one of the Gospel accounts slowly – Matthew 26- 28; Mark 14-16; Luke 22- 24; John 16-20 and think and pray about what you are reading. Saturday 11th April For our Royal Family as they try to motivate the country through social media and similar. For our Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh as they too are classed as vulnerable. For Prince Charles having tested positive, but now out of isolation.
