Dear Church Family,
I am writing to share with you some important information about the leadership of St Saviour’s Sunbury.
For personal reasons, Andy Davis has decided to stand down from his position as Church Warden, with immediate effect. I am incredibly grateful to Andy for his service as Warden over the last 4 years and I am sure you will want to join me in thanking him for all that he has done to help lead and manage our church.
The Bishop is aware of Andy’s decision and has encouraged us to seek to elect an interim Warden. To do this we will need to hold an extraordinary parochial church meeting and this will take place, after the morning service, on Sunday 1st March. Anyone who is on the electoral role for a church in the Spelthorne Deanery is allowed to attend and take part in the election.
During the interregnum, the Church Wardens are responsible for leading the church, alongside the PCC and the Staff Team. The interim Warden will serve in the period 1 March – 26 April 2020. On the 26th April, St Saviour’s will hold its planned Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM), where the usual elections for Wardens and vacant PCC positions will take place. Whoever is elected as interim Warden will also be able to stand as Warden for the forthcoming year at the APCM.
Anyone who has been on the electoral role of St Saviour’s Sunbury, for more than 6 months, is eligible to apply for the position of Warden and must complete a nomination form. If you would like to receive a nomination form then please contact Julie Couchman-Boor via email: julie.couchman-boor@stsaviourssunbury.org.uk. Although forms can be submitted on the day, to help with our administration, we ask nominees to please submit their forms to Julie by Friday 28th February.
If you have any questions, or would like to understand more about what being a warden involves, then please do not hesitate to contact me via wardens@stsaviourssunbury.org.uk.
Love and blessings,
Barney Vanstone Church Warden
