Thank you for your patience and understanding as we process the guidance we are receiving and work out how best to respond. You may be aware from the media that the Church of England has now provided guidance that all collective worship should be suspended. This does unfortunately mean that we won't be able to meet together this Sunday and that means all of our church services, events and activities, except the Foodbank, are cancelled for the foreseeable future and until the guidance changes. We are working hard behind the scenes to look at how we can support and keep connected with our church family during this time of physical separation and as soon as we've got firm things to share with you then we will. It is reassuring to know that our ability to connect with God is not determined by physical locations and our private prayer at home, reading the bible and spending time in His presence is not restricted in any way! You may notice in the guidance that the Church of England are allowing churches to keep their doors open for private prayer, where it can be facilitated by clergy. Obviously, as we are in an interregnum, we are not in a position to do that and this has been confirmed by the Area Dean today. However, if you have another CofE church local to you, and you would like to visit one, then you may want to check on their website to see if they are open for prayer. I do however want to reiterate government guidance about social distancing and good hygiene; these have been put in place to protect the most vulnerable in our society and we all have a responsibility to look after each other. We are looking forward to being able to share our plans and ideas with you in the coming days and pray that we will all use this time to deepen our relationships with God and each other, even if it looks a bit different to normal.
